Mullica Hill Farms

Of all the houses with which Thomas B Wagner, Architect has been involved, none has a more beautiful and unspoiled rural setting than this stately country farm house, known as Mullica Hill Farms in rural South Jersey.  The property is situated on 100 acres of woods, streams, farmland and fields in this rural community.  Set far back from the roadway, the new brick and stucco residence was designed and constructed in front of the former primary residence overlooking a man made spring, stables, barns and grazing areas.

Rural Luxury

The owner, who is a CEO of a large food based company,  needed a home for his family that includes 4-5 dogs, horses, and a variety of other animals, as well as a place to entertain guests and business associates.   At the front of the house is a landscaped drop off area, steps to a covered porch and entrance door.

The main foyer entrance, a two story space with large chandelier is graced with a large circular stair to the upper quarters, and an immediate right takes you to the beautiful paneled office suite where the owner can receive business associates and friends.

The paneled room has room for seating, large screen TV, separate desk area and en elevator for access to the upper levels.  To the left of the foyer is a large dining room with seating for 12, a central bar with separate seating, and fully stocked equipment for total entertainment. To the left is a large family room with beamed ceiling and access to the rear yard and patio areas.  Open to the bar and family room is a most wonderful kitchen, large enough to make a chef blush.  The kitchen includes custom cabinetry, dark appliances and a free standing hood.  The entire first floor is done in ceramic tile for easy maintenance and scratch resistance.  A rear entrance includes a home for the dogs, with built in water bowl, floor drains and crates for night time.  A three car garage is included, screen porch with access to the pool and gym beyond.

Upstairs,  a suite of three bedrooms with baths is situated on one side of the house and a master suite with 8 x 10 shower, walk in closets, and access to a front facing veranda overlooking much of the property and water views.  A meticulous landscape plan includes a hardscape entrance portal, gardens and pool areas that extend to a separate gym facility.

The house was constructed by Daryl Vermaat Builders of Haddonfield.  Landscape and hardscape by Al Masulo of Knollltop Nursery, Haddonfield.
