Bantivogio Residence
This project is a great example of a well designed house laid out on a difficult, narrow lot just outside of Haddonfield, New Jersey. As the owner of a fine kitchen design showroom, we were asked to design a new home, on a 60’ wide properly that sloped upward toward the back of the property.
Cottage Craftsman
The house was to be designed with as few stairs as possible given the circumstances of the land. The design of the house was to include a garage for two cars, an attractive mudroom entrance, and on the main level an entrance foyer, on each side of arched openings look into a dining room on one side with a fireplace and hand painted murals. On the opposite side, a library/study with an additional fireplace is placed. The foyer leads to the back of the house which is open from end to end, and includes a fabulous kitchen, of course, large and full of light, open to the great room and breakfast room areas. A butler pantry is situated between the kitchen and dining room in front. The entire rear wall is glass and French door open to a bluestone patio area with stepped walls to the upper levels. The entire house is well appointed with fine furniture, wallpaper and finishes throughout.
A few steps up above the front facing garage is a master bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, marble and tile bath, large shower, and walk in closet with custom designed designed built ins.
The room is lovely and has windows facing the two sides with the closet blocking traffic noises out front. A main second floor includes three additional finished bedrooms and two baths.
Outside, the house was designed with a cottage craftsman theme with shingle siding, and stonework with matching retain walls around the entrance and motor court
The house was constructed by Legnola Builders of Haddonfield.
